Nagendra Prasad met Prof. BS Murty, Director IIT HYDERABAD & Dean Ms Khandelwal at Stanford University during their visit to West Coast exploring opportunities for collaboration with the Universities in the US. The delegation interacted with SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Prof. Jagjit Nanda & Prof. Hamdi at Stanford University with focus on energy.   Consular camp was held by the Consulate General of India, San Francisco and VFS Global at Norwalk in Southern California on August 6, 2023. There was an enthusiastic response from the community in Southern California. Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad appreciated Mr. Venkat Peddi & Team and other Community Associations for making the camp a success.   The Indian community alongwith Jeeyar Educational Trust (JET) organised ‘Ask Me Anything’, a discourse of Vedic Philosophy and ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam by His Holiness Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy in Seattle. Over 2000 people attended the Kalyanam. Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad highly appreciated the work taken up by @jeeyarswamy in the areas of Education, Women healthcare and school for visualy impaired and was personally impressed by ‘Prajna’ initiative. Besides the large Indian community, elected members including Washington State Senator Manka Dhingra @mankadhingraforag attended the event.   Consulate General of India San Francisco hosted a pre-event virtual session alongwith Ministry of Commerce & Industry for the upcoming Sourcing at Magic Expo to be held from August 7 to 9 in Las Vegas. Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad in his remarks highlighted the success of the last two Magic expos in Las Vegas. Mr. Santosh Sarangi, Director General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce also spoke during the session and gave an overview of the steps being taken by Government of India to increase exports from India. Ms. Ashwini Lal, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterpries (MSME), Padmashri Dr. A. Sakthivel and Mr. HKL Magu of Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) also spoke on this occasion. Dr. Tamanna Chaturvedi of AEPC made a presentation on Indian Textiles & Garment exports alongwith the potential for increasing exports to US Market. Telugu Music lovers enjoyed the energetic and electrifying concert by Devi Sri Prasad @thisisdsp and the danced to foot tapping numbers.   Millet Mahotsav in #SiliconValley with ‘Millet Man’ Padma Shri Dr. Khader Vali attracted about 300 food and health enthusiasts. The Consulate General of India, San Francisco celebrated the occasion to commemorate International Year of Millets 2023 IYM 2023. Consul General Dr. T.V. Nagendra Prasad in his remarks highlighted the importance given by India to millets and India’s role in designating this year as ‘IYM’ by the United Nations. He appreciated the keen interest of all the attendees on the health benefits and various groups created around millets in Bay Area giving good publicity among the Diaspora. Consul General thanked University of Silicon Andhra and Shastha Foods for joining and promoting #millets for personal health and health of climate around.
