78th Indian independence day

The 78th Indian independence day celebration was held at San Jose City Hall on the evening of August 15th. Consul General Dr. K. Srikar Reddy hoisted the Indian flag at the event.

The event was hosted by San Jose Councilmember Arjun Batra. Mayor Matt Mahan Council member Domingo Candelas and Bien Doan, Assembly member Ash Kalra Fremont Council member Teresa Cox Teresa Cox and over 200 members of Indian diaspora graced the occasion.
Tanya Gupta's rendition of the Indian National Anthem added to the patriotic spirit. The evening, co-hosted by Association of Indo Americans (AIA) and UPMA was filled with traditional performances, music, and refreshments.
